Christopher Kim

Founder & Director

Christopher Kim is interested in the intersection of science and the humanities. Especially dedicated to uplifting unheard voices, he is particularly interested in the impact of climate change on rural and underserved communities. 

Elane Kim

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Elane Kim is a student who is passionate about using creative writing as a mode of environmental activism. Her work has been recognized by the National YoungArts Foundation and the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs, among others. A 2022 Davidson Fellow, she is the author of Postcards​ (Bull City Press 2021) and Antibody (River River Books 2026). In her free time, she enjoys going on runs, playing the guitar, and learning new recipes.

Callen Kuwahara

Managing Editor

Callen Kuwahara is a high schooler who enjoys spending his time on chemistry, woodworking, gardening, baking, cooking, and the occasional fiction book. If he isn’t doing any of these, you can count on him making another cup of coffee or tea for upcoming projects to work on. He is currently implementing his chemistry knowledge to do research on topics such as phosphorescent and nano materials.

Shawn Kim is a student from the Bay Area passionate about environmentalism. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, hiking, and swimming.

Managing Editor

Ella Jeon is a student from the Bay Area who loves to working on poetry and fiction novels. She has received recognition for her poetry from Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and Tri-Valley Writers. Her work first began to voice environmentalism after writing for Genius Olympiad's environment category. In her free time, when she isn’t reading or writing, she loves to run and hike.

Scientific Article Editor

Rodrigo Cantu Valadez is a student from California who enjoys reading, biking, and science. He has done projects regarding pulmonary artificial hypertension, solar cells, and is working on promoting symbiotic algal growth near coral reefs.
